This chapter draws on reflexive diaries we kept as part of a joint autoethnography at a ‘new’ public university in the North-West of England, United Kingdom to explore our lived experiences of transitioning back to work in higher education following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. This research, from the perspectives of a Faculty Research and Knowledge Exchange Manager and a Senior Lecturer, is of interest to an international readership because, whilst research has begun to explore how experiences of higher education practices were adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has yet to bring to the fore the experiences of higher education staff returning to the academy following long periods of working at home.

摘要
