Teaching is one of the most important responsibilities of the academic clinician educator and the one that attracts many faculty into the academic setting. None of us in the field are ‘born teachers,’ although there are personality traits that enable teachers to connect to learners in a more effective manner. It need not have to be said that there is a body of knowledge around teaching and learning that we as CEs all need to master.
