This research investigates the potential of blockchain technology to streamline the Bahraini banking sector. Through a survey of 30 banking professionals from 20 different banks in Bahrain, the study identifies key use cases, technical requirements, and opportunities for blockchain implementation. The findings reveal that blockchain can significantly enhance efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness in areas such as payments, trade finance, and regulatory compliance. However, challenges related to regulation, technology integration, and skill shortage must be addressed. The research provides recommendations for banks, the central bank, and the government to facilitate blockchain adoption and contributes to the development of a sustainable blockchain-based banking ecosystem in Bahrain.
