The objective of this paper is to explore the obstacles and encounters faced by universities during the enduring Lebanese war and sheds the light on the resilience practiced by faculty members and students during this period to adapt these difficulties and that is through the use of technology, principally the artificial intelligence (AI). The current research explores the faculty members and the students’ experience while trying to navigate the war's effect on their educational journey, offering deeper insights into their reactions and surviving mechanisms. Using a qualitative method, the study gathers data from 13 semi-structured interviews with current students and 6 faculty members. Based on Braun and Clarke (Qual Res Psychol 3:77–101, 2006 [8]) thematic analysis, MAXQDA 2020 was used to classify patterns and themes in the collected data. The results show that in spite of the significant disruptions that was suddenly triggered by the war, students have showed outstanding resilience and adaptability, leveraging AI tools to improve their learning practices and understandings. This research contributes to the understanding of educational resilience and acceptance of innovation in times of crisis and offers suggestions for developing a vigorous educational framework that could help students’ requirements throughout the challenging periods.
