The volume of data generated by public authorities is increasing daily. Management decisions of significant consequence are derived from the analysis of this data. To enhance effective decision-making, it is imperative for public authorities to adopt alternative methods for analyzing substantial data sets, moving beyond traditional approaches that fulfill contemporary requirements. Within this framework, a novel and advanced tool in the evolution of analytical technologies emerges “operational analytics”. This approach is distinguished by its openness and transparency of information, accessibility, interactivity, and relevance of analytical outputs. The article delineates key artificial intelligence technologies applicable in the analytical functions of public authorities for decision-making, highlighting machine learning, neural networks, intelligent applications, and augmented intelligence. Furthermore, the critical characteristics of operational analytics relevant to public authorities are synthesized. The concept of “operational analytics” is expounded in relation to the operations of public authorities. Additionally, an analysis of Ukraine’s positions in various indices indicative of governmental readiness to adopt artificial intelligence technologies and the state of open data development is presented. The findings indicate that, despite the ongoing full-scale war, Ukraine continues to advance the field of digitalization and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies within public authority operations. Challenges associated with the implementation of innovative technologies in the practical working of public authorities are also examined. The study confirms that the deployment of artificial intelligence technologies in the analytical processes of public authorities enchances the effectiveness, speed, and precision of management decisions, which are vital for the domain of public administration.
