Brief accounts are offered of three explorations and one extended exploration: Gluing regular tetrahedra to try to make a torus; Krutetskii’s fuel tanks and its generalisation; Elastic multiplication; and The Power of Towers as a way of thinking about crossed ladders. Each of these was a source of both mathematical and pedagogical insight and pleasure for me.
