This essay focuses on the notion of rhythm and how this concept can be used to develop a historical anthropology. It brings together the themes of human experience and knowledge, time, agency and environment. It is also exploratory in the spirit of some of Nigel Rapport’s work, as well as moving between the individual and the general.
