This chapter explores the intersections of gender, sexuality, and religion in the context of post-secular societies, where the boundaries between secular and religious have blurred. We explore how these intersections are shaped by and in turn shape the dynamics of religious diversity, colonial legacies, and contemporary global flows. Central to our analysis are the tensions of agency and freedom that emerge when diverse perspectives, identities, and experiences coexist in a globalized world still grappling with colonial influences. We argue that understanding these intersections requires moving beyond simplistic binary frameworks to uncover the underlying dynamics of power operating beneath surface-level arguments and debates. By applying theoretical frameworks such as intersectionality and postcolonial theory, we illuminate the often-hidden structures and power dynamics that underlie debates on religious diversity, freedom, and minority rights in post-secular contexts. This approach allows us to critically examine how discourses around minority rights and freedoms can be weaponized by those in power to justify discrimination and maintain existing hierarchies, particularly in the context of growing religious diversity and the challenges it poses to traditional secular-religious divisions.
