Discovering the Gifts of the Spirit
摘要
This chapter will develop the ecclesial dimension of the asceticism of emotions described so far. More precisely, it will argue that the cleansing of our perception through ascetic practices helps us uncover the gifts that the Holy Spirit grants to those around us in order to strengthen the ecclesial community. To support this argument, the chapter will begin by explaining that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of love and unity that functions as the medium for revelation and unity both inside the church and the Trinity. This intermediate position of the Holy Spirit opens unexpected potentialities for disability theology, particularly in regard to the gifts that persons with disabilities can bring to the community.
