This chapter explores the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis and management of angle closure, a group of ocular disorders that can lead to elevated intraocular pressure and glaucomatous optic neuropathy. It discusses the anatomical and epidemiological background of angle closure, the current diagnostic modalities such as gonioscopy, ultrasound biomicroscopy, and anterior segment optical coherence tomography, along with their limitations. The chapter highlights how AI advancements have the potential to improve diagnostic accuracy, image analysis, longitudinal disease prediction, and treatment decision-making, addressing global disparities in ophthalmic care.
