One of the emerging engineering constituents in the domain of construction – based industrial applications is considered to be ceramics as it can be employed under different areas in various forms; such as ceramic tiles, sanitary fittings, electrical insulators & many more. When the same is processed, manufactured, transported and placed into desire field of applications, a considerable amount of ceramic is broke down due to its property of brittleness, and considered as “waste”. For the effective utilization of ceramic waste, studies had been conducted on blending of ceramic wastes into concrete with different combinations and considerations. This study is focused on presenting an extensive analysis on investigation of characteristics of composite concrete when blended with the waste derived from ceramics. Considering the fresh properties of ceramic based concrete composite, the pozzolanic nature of the waste enhances magnitude of slump, thereby the property of workability. Also, there is an impressive rise in the magnitudes related for determination of characteristics of hardened ceramic based concrete composite in comparison to conventional concrete mix. Durability properties of the waste ceramic based concrete composite got enhanced with increasing its proportioning into the composite concrete mix. The effective utilization of ceramic waste into the concrete mix will decrease the utilisation of raw materials for concrete production, thus decreasing carbon footprint and give encouragement for production of an economic – sustainable competent product for construction industry.
