Waste from construction and demolition (C&D) has become one of the world's most pressing environmental issues due to urbanization's unrelenting rise. The transformational potential of Circular Economy (CE) concepts in reducing the negative effects of construction and demolition (C&D) waste in Bangalore, India, is explored in this article. This study explores the benefits and challenges of incorporating CE into C&D waste management techniques with an emphasis on sustainability. We evaluated the effectiveness of CE techniques by concentrating on the changing urban district of North Bangalore and conducting extensive literature research, questionnaire surveys with important stakeholders, and pilot model implementation. Our research reveals a patchwork of issues arising from regulatory structures, technological constraints, social attitudes, behavioural patterns, and financial circumstances. To the fullest extent possible, these obstacles provide as strong barriers to the implementation of CE in C&D waste management. But when obstacles appear, so do opportunities for improvement. Practical suggestions are presented by this research, opening the door to a future with ecological balance. We draw attention to the need for public awareness, industry practices, and government legislation to all align in order to facilitate the shift to waste management led by CE. With an eye towards social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and economic feasibility, our study imagines a future in which waste materials become useful resources. This article seeks to inspire a paradigm change by shedding light on the complex interactions between trash reduction and urban growth. It advocates for circularity as the cornerstone of progress and celebrates garbage as a renewable resource. By offering a road map for Bangalore Urban's shift to a circular economy in terms of C&D waste optimisation, our study adds to the discourse on sustainable urbanisation. According to this data, the output of construction and demolition (C&D) trash increased from 3,000 tonnes per day (TPD) in 2014 to 3,680 TPD in 2020 and is predicted to reach 4,400 TPD by 2026. After little pre-processing, 65–85% of this building and demolition trash may be recovered and used in new projects.
