Assam and Mizoram witnessed a confrontation on July 26, 2021, as part of a long-standing interstate boundary conflict claiming the lives of six police officers and one civilian. This incident was covered in national and international media. Borrowing Entman’s conceptualisation of media framing, this chapter examines how national electronic media channels framed the conflict between Assam and Mizoram in 2021. In addition, the study interviewed journalists to ascertain their views and experiences on the conflict and their attitudes about the roles of journalists covering conflicts. The results indicate that the media prioritised the conflict frame and engaged in blaming. Semi-structured interviews with local journalists revealed perceived roles as responsible, rational, sensitive disseminators and mobilisers of information.
