Nowadays, the concepts of University 4.0 and educational technologies for sustainable development are interpreted through the best practices and perspectives available in Russia and Central Asian countries. However, no matter how they are perceived in the educational environment, the eternal values and imperatives of social life (e.g., well-being, home, people, culture, mentality, development, family, and happiness) still remain the main postulates. Their essential content is clearly shown in the works of fiction. The research aims to draw attention to the topic of home and family in light of the evolution of the culture and mentality of the people based on a critical analysis of the paremias and other texts of Russian and Kyrgyz literature. The authors revealed ethno-mental characteristics of the perception of such categories as family and home. During the research, the authors applied comparative analysis of the literature of the two peoples, considering the evolution of the mentality and culture of the ethnos, which makes it possible to identify positive and crisis phenomena in the life of society. The authors conclude that studying the topic of family and home at a university and school is relevant, emphasizing such value definitions as fate, happiness, prosperity, luck, trouble, war, and peace. The classical texts of the Russian and Kyrgyz people are marked by high artistry and great moral and humanistic potential.
