Reducing the “Backwardness Vortices” of BRICS + and Transitioning to a New Quality of Growth in the Digital Economy by Developing Business 4.0
摘要
This research investigates the experiences and future prospects of BRICS+ countries in overcoming “backwardness vortices” and transitioning to a higher quality of growth in the digital economy by advancing Business 4.0. The research methodology involves calculating the “backwardness vortices” for BRICS+ countries for 2022–2024 and using regression modeling to analyze how the depth of these vortices in 2023 correlates with various Business 4.0 characteristics. The authors identified several key characteristics of Business 4.0 that are critical to improving the quality of digital economic growth in BRICS+ countries. These include the proportion of knowledge-intensive jobs, the increase in high-tech products’ share in exports, and the enhancement of quality certification activities in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. The research also presents the identified patterns of change in the depth of “backwardness vortices” as these Business 4.0 characteristics evolve, expressed in mathematical terms. The research concludes that Business 4.0 plays a decisive role in determining the quality of digital economic growth. By optimizing Business 4.0 characteristics, BRICS+ countries can transition to a new level of economic growth. The projected reduction in “backwardness vortices” and the shift to a new quality of digital economic growth by 2024, along with the proposed scientific and practical recommendations, are of practical importance. These findings support the reduction of global inequality by fully realizing the potential of developing countries to improve the quality of digital economic growth.
