Sharing and Communicating UX Research
摘要
This chapter explores the ways UX research findings are shared and communicated in academic and applied settings, highlighting key differences in publication formats, dissemination strategies, and audience engagement. Academic discourse is characterized by peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, and book publications, often emphasizing theoretical contributions, citation impact, and methodological rigor. In contrast, applied UX research prioritizes actionable insights through living documentation, stakeholder presentations, and team integration, focusing on practical implementation by embedding research findings into product development. The chapter also examines challenges such as the differing expectations for generalizability versus transferability of findings and the varying approaches to documenting research and making concrete design recommendations. By analyzing these communication gaps, the chapter underscores the need for fostering better collaboration and knowledge exchange between academia and industry, ultimately advancing UX research and practice.
