UX Research Models and Methods
摘要
This chapter examines the theoretical foundations and methodological approaches of UX research, highlighting key differences between academic and industry practices. While academic researchers prioritize structured, theory-driven methodologies, industry professionals adopt flexible, time-sensitive approaches tailored to specific product needs. Specifically, the chapter explores how methodological differences, including the preference for controlled experiments in academia versus heuristic evaluations and rapid usability testing in industry, contribute to gaps in research interpretation and application. Additionally, issues such as sample size, statistical rigor, and the transferability of findings further complicate the integration of academic insights into practical UX work. By analyzing these discrepancies, the chapter underscores the challenges of bridging academic theories with industry needs to create a more cohesive UX research landscape.
