Building Personal Brand in the Portfolio-Based Higher Education
摘要
A comprehensive institutional portfolio-based learning approach and teaching strategy called myBrand has been introduced at our university. Its objective was twofold: (1) on the one hand, to support students’ learning process and strategies, and on the other hand (2) to improve students’ career-building skills, so that they are aware of the labour market requirements from the beginning of their studies, and they can consciously develop their professional portfolio in light of these. In this paper, we present the activities and creations integrated into the different courses that support our students to consciously choose their own journey and build their own brand and professional portfolio from the beginning of their higher education studies. We will describe the value added of these methods in the portfolio-based learning environment. Finally, we analyse the student’s (n = 160 in Economic Mathematics, n = 109 in Business Statistics, and n = 238 in Informatics) feelings and opinions about the implemented approaches.
