In the current digital environment, many resources have emerged to support teaching and learning processes. In this context Smart Libraries for Open Educational Resources (OER) are an important solution to assist teachers in various subjects in structured content searching, resource sharing, reusing existing materials and creating new ones. In accordance with the aforementioned objectives and prevailing trends, the Gate2Math project is engaged in the creation of Smart Library of OER in the domains of mathematics and physics. The purpose of this research is to collate and analyse user feedback on the usability and functionality of the library. To achieve this, 26 academic staff from different European countries with experience in teaching mathematics and physics in higher education were invited to participate in a BIP (Blended Intensive Program) on OER for hands-on experience with the Gate2Math Smart Library. This was a qualitative study using a participatory action research methodology in which participants, through combined use, hands-on testing and sharing expert opinion, evaluated the Smart Library with some recommendations on how to improve the usability and functionality of the Smart Library. Additionally, analyzing the results of this study has uncovered new research topics within the domain of repositories for OER.
