The study presented in the following pages involved 15 students from the Master of Music Therapy program who were asked to compose music using the Beatoven.ai website. Participants found the workspace very intuitive for creating music. The challenge was to create musical pieces that reflect their identity, with the aim of self-discovery and translating a description of themselves into music. The activity demonstrated that, through artificial intelligence, even those with no experience in music composition can express themselves artistically in a therapeutic way. The results suggest that the use of AI in music therapy can facilitate the process of self-exploration and provide an accessible means of artistic expression for all individuals, regardless of their previous musical abilities.
