Goitered gazelles are distributed across a vast area with various environmental conditions. In this chapter, in addition to general characteristics, I am including an overview of goitered gazelle feeding ecology in different countries. In some countries, there is very limited information on feeding patterns of goitered gazelles, while the nutrition of this species on Barsakelmes Island has been studied in the most detail. Therefore, I am paying a lot of attention to the island population and its feeding ecology, bearing in mind that the patterns established for the island goitered gazelles are also characteristic for other habitats. Most gazelle researchers have concentrated their studies on the ecological aspects of animal behavior, so feeding behavior is being presented in this book based mainly on my research of the Ili Hollow population.
