Delimitation of the Problem: The Four Walls of Poverty
摘要
This chapter focuses on defining and understanding poverty in Jamaica. It explores the persistent issues that the country faces, including food insecurity, limited healthcare access, and disparities in education. Using the Human Development Index (HDI) as a benchmark, it discusses the causes, measurements, and types of poverty, as well as the impact on both individuals and society. The chapter emphasizes the need for a holistic approach to addressing poverty, recognizing it as both a relative and absolute concept.
