Many different pathologies, both benign and malignant, can arise in the maxillary sinus. Being benign does not necessarily indicate that it is easy to manage, especially since some benign lesions are extremely difficult to fully excise surgically. This difficulty could arise due to the anatomical complexity of the maxillary sinus and its close proximity to crucial structures. Furthermore, certain lesions, such as angiofibroma, though considered benign, can be difficult to tackle due to their vascular nature. Some, but not all, of the benign lesions of the maxillary sinus include antrochoanal polyp, retention cyst, dentigerous cyst, maxillary sinus cholesterol granuloma, angiofibroma involving maxillary sinus, inverted papilloma, osteoblastoma, fibrous dysplasia, ossifying fibroma, maxillary mucocele, schwannoma, osteoma, and pyogenic granuloma.

摘要
