Digital Transformation of Sustainability Marketing in Africa: A Multistakeholder Framework for Emerging Technologies
摘要
This paper introduces an integrated framework for technology-driven sustainability marketing in Africa, examining how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and augmented reality can enhance sustainability marketing strategies. By synthesizing stakeholder theory, diffusion of innovations theory, institutional theory, and the technology–organization–environment framework, we provide a holistic perspective on engaging stakeholders through technology-enhanced marketing approaches. The framework emphasizes cultural adaptation, contextual integration, and feedback loops in implementing sustainability initiatives. Through ten propositions, we explore the dynamics of technology adoption, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability outcomes in African markets. The paper extends sustainability marketing theory to the African context, highlighting how emerging technologies reshape stakeholder relationships and interact with local institutional environments. For practitioners, it offers actionable insights for leveraging technology in sustainability marketing, emphasizing adaptive strategies and cultural sensitivity while outlining future research directions for advancing sustainable development in Africa.
