This chapter concerns a variety of representationsRepresentation of movementMovement as tools that allow one to orient oneself in the dimension of time. It begins with an appeal to the testimony of a non-continuity of the world timely understood as exemplified by chosen academic positions. Other tools for dealing with the world in motion are then presented, where motion has a rhythmRhythm. This is the way the tools, especially the cyclically oriented ones, have been so useful in human history. These tools have a double nature: they are representational and constructional. In this sense they are used for a manipulation of what is represented. A form of manipulation is exemplified through an appeal to two opposite academic schools: naturalism and antinaturalism. They both acknowledge the notion of movementMovement. What is missing, however, is the ordered and foreseeable nature of changeChange, so that one’s knowledgeKnowledge of motion may be contingent.

摘要
