The aim of this work is to study the impact of the Bulgarians’ solvency on the consumption of basic food commodities, as well as to trace the specific socio-economic aspects of the consumption of different food products. Seasonality in consumption as well as the trend in consumption of certain food products is examined using data on average per capita consumption in Bulgaria for the period 2014–2023. A correlation analysis of the relationship between the consumption of a given food product and the average monetary household income is performed. Based on this analysis, different regression models are built to determine the relationship between consumption of specific food items and monetary income. For this purpose, linear, inverse and quadratic models were used, and a comparative analysis was made between them. The inverse models were used to determine maximum and/or minimum consumption levels for the food products.

摘要
