Applying 3D Modeling to Study Historical and Cultural Monuments

In contemporary science, studying historical and cultural monuments of the past using diverse and comprehensive methods allows for a thorough analysis of the investigated subject. This enables a profound understanding of its essence and paves the way for an objective assessment. Computer modeling is one of the methods for studying historical and cultural monuments. Computer modeling is a technique for preserving and restoring historical monuments, cultural artifacts, and historical events, refining historical hypotheses, and testing and developing new ideas and perspectives. This is achieved through the virtual reconstruction of historical and cultural objects. Modeling historical sites is a new research direction for historians, philosophers, and programmers analyzing historical and cultural objects. Several studies have been conducted abroad in this field; substantial scholarly works have been published. Virtual reconstruction is developing as an independent scientific discipline. In Kyrgyzstan, it is still in its formative stages. Kyrgyzstan is home to historical and cultural monuments from ancient, medieval, and modern periods. Historical and cultural objects have lost their original appearance; some have completely disappeared or are partially destroyed. In the present day, the restoration of historical and cultural monuments through 3D modeling has become relevant to historical science, philosophy, cultural studies, and information technology.
