Political philosophy seeks to determine what the ethical consistency requirement implies with regard to how a society of persons should rationally endeavor to organize its own political order. Thus, one can rationally determine a political ideal, but it is an empirical question, whether we as humans can live up to this ideal. We must try that and educate ourselves. Whether we can, only history can tell.
