Climate Finance and Natural Capital: Linking Global Initiatives with Local Impact
摘要
Climate finance is a critical pillar in global efforts to combat climate change, channelling essential capital toward projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable climate action. This chapter aims to provide general guidance on how the development of climatic finance can be assessed. The most important factor is that the valuation of nature to any financial system is crucial if any climatic goals should be attained. In addition, in the global context, the role of global movements is difficult to underestimate. Meanwhile, adaptation and application on the local level are crucial and can be illustrated in a myriad of cases. The chapter showcases the examples of different countries where the concept of climate finance is much more of a fact of life. These examples serve to illustrate both the advantages and disadvantages of the public–private partnerships and the role of the nature-based solutions, together with developing trends like impact investing.
