Based on the importance of involvement at the community level, together with participative approaches for adopting sustainable technologies in the developing world, this research puts the spotlight on the importance of human factors. Utilizing theoretical approaches to eco-innovation; like Human-centered Design, Social Learning Theory, Theory of Planned Behaviour, Participative Governance, Diffusion of Innovations, and Behavioural Economics. It brings the social dynamics and behaviours knowledge factor into improving effective implementation through eco-innovative solutions. By analysing case studies across India, Kenya, Brazil, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, the study demonstrates how localized approaches, emphasizing human factors, lead to more successful implementation of sustainable technologies. For instance, initiatives that are community-owned, incorporating local know-how and cultural contexts, lead to not only acceptance but also ownership and dedication toward sustainability goals. Finally, the role of international organizations in funding, capacity building, and knowledge sharing as supports for such efforts is explored further, illustrating the collaborative nature of eco-innovation. Findings therefore require holistic frameworks that integrate stakeholder perspectives, address behavioural barriers, and leverage social networks to enhance sustainable practices. Finally, the findings of this research shed further light on whether human-centred approaches can drive innovation toward greater sustainability, thereby providing action-oriented policy advice to policymakers and practitioners for sustainable development in developing countries.
