The agroindustry sector, and the product production activity in particular, plays an important role in modern economies and population feeding. Digital transformation is happening in almost all areas and this industry is also its object of interest. Despite the adoption of digital technologies in the agroindustry not being new, it is important to reflect in how it can be improved. It is aim of this research to explore and describe a variety of sensors used in the production activity of agroindustry context and for those sensors what kinds of communication systems are available for Internet of Things and the outlining their current challenges. This research is intended to support a further development of a technological framework for intelligent precision agroindustry production. The use of sensorization and communication networks in agroindustry product production and animal husbandry offers several advantages such as driving efficiency, sustainability and productivity. Although some aspects are yet to be addressed to make those contributions more effective.
