Landscape—whether understood physically or as a social construction—is the foundation for tourism. A differentiated examination of landscape can therefore be inspiring for tourism research. This article combines social science analyses of tourism with theoretical perspectives on landscape and outlines how connections between landscape and tourism can be systematically investigated.
