Political Worldviews and Landscape
摘要
Political worldviews not only determine how landscapes are used and designed, but also what is understood to be a landscape and how landscapes are perceived and evaluated. This article reconstructs these relationships for historical and current influential political worldviews in Europe: for the liberal and democratic Enlightenment, for Enlightenment-critical conservatism, as well as socialism and National Socialism. The focus is on aesthetic landscape perceptions and on symbolic meanings of landscapes.
