Autopoietic System Theory and Landscape
摘要
The autopoietic systems theory of the sociologist Niklas Luhmann deals with communication within society. It assumes a differentiation of society into subsystems that observe their environment based on specific codes. Accordingly, the construction of landscape is based on these codes. Thus, the economic subsystem constructs landscape as concerns the question of whether money can be made from it, and that of politics as concerns whether power can be gained from it, etc. According to these codes, the societal subsystems imprint themselves upon the physical world.
