Redefining Transportation Modelling with Advanced Agent-Based Simulations
摘要
Multi-agent simulators have proved to be an essential tool to aid in transportation modelling and optimisation research. This paper focuses on SimFleet, a multi-agent-based fleet simulator built specifically to consider the modelling needs of transportation services. Because of that, its architecture is based on the principles of modularity and code reusability. Throughout this work, we characterise transportation simulation and describe SimFleet’s classes and their relationship. Finally, a case study is developed to show the simplicity of orchestrating a transportation simulation with SimFleet, thanks to its modular design. This research certifies the suitability of our transportation modelling, whose features, integrated into SimFleet’s core, attest to the simulator’s potential to explore transportation optimisation.
