Inventory Management and Traceability in Civil Engineering Through IoT and Explainable Artificial Intelligence

Inventory management is still a problem to be solved despite the continuous improvements brought about by automation and optimization of resources. Among the solutions available in the scientific literature, it is clear that a comprehensive solution is needed to help this type of management in the field of civil engineering. TRAZALME 4.0 addresses the critical need for traceability and inventory management in the civil engineering sector by designing an intelligent platform. The proposed solution uses emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and RFID/QR identification-based traceability systems. The research carried out, which includes a comprehensive study of relevant technologies, concludes in the implementation of a modular tool with a series of interconnected layers that ensure effective data collection, processing and presentation. Although it is still too early to have preliminary results, the novelties presented such as explainable AI algorithms and graph-based visualization technologies are expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and facilitate decision-making based on reliable and transparent data.
