Ontogenetic anatomy maps of the Müllerian system and, in particular, of its corporal, cervical, and vaginal subcompartments are generated by tracking their stepwise development in the human female from Carnegie stage 11 at the beginning of organogenesis to maturity. Together with the simultaneous ontogenesis of adjacent pelvic tissues, the development of the Müllerian system provides clues to understanding the complex subperitoneum. Based on ontogenetic anatomy, the tissues making up the cancer fields for endometrial, cervix, and vaginal carcinomas are outlined with high topographical precision. An anatomical landscape illustrating the local spread of cervix carcinoma supports the cancer field model.

摘要
