Projected Coordinate Systems
摘要
The map projections discussed so far (Chap. 11) serve to project the entire Earth or very large parts of it onto a plane. On the other hand, it was already mentioned in Sect. 10.1.4 that for relatively small areas—a rule of thumb is a size of up to 10 × 10 km2—the curvature of the Earth’s surface can indeed be neglected, so that a local plane can also be used as a reference surface for this.
