Automatic Classification of Cow’s Behavior During Grazing
摘要
The situation surrounding dairy farmers is changing at a dizzying pace, with soaring feed costs, declining demand for dairy products, and an increasing number of farmers being forced to leave their farms. To solve this situation and to improve Japan’s food self-sufficiency ratio, there is a need for high-value-added dairy products. However, there are many problems around farming, such as breeding methods, increased production costs, reproductive performance, and health management of dairy cows. Grazing is one way to solve these problems, but it has yet to be widely used because it requires pasture management according to the foraging conditions. In this paper, we describe the intermediate results of our study on a technology for automatic classification of cow behavior during grazing, which is one of the challenges.
