Metasurfaces are bidimensional metamaterials, that is, collections of basic resonant structures deposited on a surface. They have been proposed as a viable technological way because they are not pledged by the losses inherent to volume metamaterials. The field has been rapidly evolving, with very interesting experimental realizations. The chapter will contain a theoretical part allowing for a simplified description of metasurfaces versus metamaterials, and a description of the theoretical predictions and experimental realizations.
