This article presents a study of Kabardinskaya Street in Nalchik, one of the longest streets in the city, with a history dating back to the 19th century. The street, once called Vorontsovskaya in honor of Prince Mikhail Vorontsov, was central and played an important role in the life of the city. Particular attention is paid to the surviving historical buildings, such as the Pobeda Cinema, the house of merchant Zipalov P.G. and the Shuisky Hotel I.E., which are valuable monuments of architecture and cultural heritage, as well as buildings constructed in the modern period and how they fit into the architectural ensemble of that time. The work provides historical background on these objects, architectural, artistic and planning solutions, and their significance for the city. The main purpose of preserving the street. Kabardinskaya, is the preservation of the buildings of that time for the citizens and residents of the republic, as a historical and cultural heritage of the people, which must be recreated for future generations and preserve the recognizable unique image of the city. The article emphasizes the importance of research and preservation of the cultural heritage of the urban environment, pointing out the need not only to carefully preserve historical objects, but also to update their structure to create a viable urban space. The main goal is that the preservation and development of the historical urban environment requires a balanced approach, including restoration, reconstruction, improvement and landscaping in order to preserve the historical appearance of the street and at the same time adapt it to the modern needs of citizens.
