In recent years, the importance of clinical psychology has grown significantly in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), contributing to the humanization of treatments and the improvement of the psychosocial well-being of newborns and their parents. Perinatal risk factors, such as pregnancy problems, stressful family events, lack of social support and disadvantaged socioeconomic conditions, have stimulated the development of early psychological interventions, aimed at preventing the onset of mental disorders in both parents and newborns. On the other hand, reducing recovery time for premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is a crucial goal to improve clinical outcomes and reduce the economic burden on families and health systems. Several strategies can be implemented to address this issue, including optimizing clinical management, adopting developed care practices, and actively involving families. The effort of this paper consists in depicturing a new experimental approach, implemented to improve the KMC therapeutic outcomes, increasing the patient wellness and reducing the hospitalization time of infants.

摘要
