Screening methods, such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing and digital rectal examinations, play a crucial role in early diagnosis. After surgery, the duration of hospital stay (LOS) is a crucial indicator of clinical results and resource use. Understanding the factors that contribute to prolonged hospital stays is crucial for improving patient care because both organizational and patient-related factors can have a major impact on length of stay (LOS). This study employs a statistical learning technique to examine factors influencing length of stay (LOS) following prostate cancer surgery at the Antonio Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, Italy. It expands on earlier research on the causes of prolonged LOS in surgical oncology. The primary results demonstrated how the surgical pathway’s clinical and organizational components affect hospital stay length, providing opportunity to improve patient care and quality.
