Challenges of Tribalism in the Ever-Changing Global Business Landscape
摘要
Tribalism brings a new dynamic to cross-cultural leadership and business in the twenty-first century. In the twentieth century, nationalism sparked world wars. Now, nations are being divided by internal groups competing with each other for power. In the dynamic sphere of global business, the role of a global manager extends beyond conventional leadership. It necessitates an amalgamation of cultural acumen and strategic acuity, a duality that is imperative for navigating the intricacies of a multinational workforce. As a result, the relationships between employers and employees are changing. Customers come to the business for different and competing reasons that threaten the marketing and retail goals of the corporations. How these dynamics are affecting Microsoft and Walmart operations is the focus of this chapter. It also highlights the need to advance the understanding between culture and tribalism to guide further theoretical and empirical analysis.
