Sustainability is a multifaceted concept where environmental, social, and economic dimensions are interconnected. This chapter examines how we could achieve sustainability, with a primary focus on its environmental dimension. We aim to shed light on the potential and challenges of leveraging globalization as a tool for fostering sustainable practices. We commence by introducing theories that elucidate the relationship between environmental quality and globalization. Building upon these foundational concepts, we then present a series of empirical case studies. These cases exemplify how globalization can drive improvements in environmental standards and overall quality. Notably, multinational corporations are shown to embrace greener practices in response to stringent foreign environmental regulations. In conclusion, we engage in a comprehensive discussion of the obstacles that surface in this pursuit and offer potential solutions to mitigate these challenges.
