Advances in Soil and Plant Nutrient Management of Potatoes
摘要
Potatoes play a crucial role in both cropping systems and dietary habits. Advances in soil and nutrient management have significantly boosted potato production. Effective nutrient management is vital for maximizing yield and enhancing tuber quality. Both macro and micronutrients impact tuber yield. Innovations like advanced fertilizer formulations, soil health monitoring technologies and targeted nutrient delivery systems have demonstrated promising improvements in productivity and sustainability. Recent research highlights optimal practices such as integrated nutrient management (INM), site-specific nutrient management (SSNM), fertigation and foliar nutrient application, which can enhance potato growth, yield and quality while ensuring environmental sustainability. Integrating these advanced approaches can help overcome nutrient management challenges, meet the increasing demand for potatoes and support environmental stewardship.
