Introduction
摘要
The early childhood experiences including nutritional intake, socio-economic and emotional behaviors, surrounding environment rapidly shape the personality and abilities to perform in their future lives. The under 14 years population consists of 2.01 billion, which is 25% population of the world. In the specific context of Pakistan, 863,20,641 children fall within this age group, constituting 37% of the total population. This positions Pakistan as the second highest, following Afghanistan, in terms of its population under 14 years. The Early Childhood Development Index and selected indicators of Sustainable Development Goals emphasize a clear correlation between economic growth and wellbeing of all demographic groups. Children, constituting a sizable portion of this population, face marginalization due to their limited ability to voice concerns, and those advocating on their behalf often struggle for visibility within policy corridors and national discourses on development. Consequently, the status of child well-being emerges as a critical concern, particularly for nations undergoing slow growth or with low economic development. This predicament extends beyond a mere national issue, transcending to a moral imperative for humanity as a whole.
