Data visualization can be defined as the representation of data through the use of graphics tools, such as charts, plots, heat maps, and animations to communicate complex data relationships and model results in a way that is easy to understand to different kinds of audiences. In this chapter, we first discuss in Sect. 4.1 the role of visualization in the data science workflow. We then present in Sects. 4.2 and 4.3 the main concepts and principles of visualization theory. Section 4.4 introduces and discusses the most commonly used charts, and Sect. 4.5 studies visual interaction. Finally, a comprehensive analysis with real-world data from traffic in Singapore and Jakarta, and a use case of air quality analysis in Delhi, is discussed in Sect. 4.6.

摘要
