The importance of soil biology primarily focuses on the roles of microbial communities and organic matter in maintaining soil structure and fertility. The application of theoretical approaches to practical strategies is discussed through case studies that demonstrate effective soil health practices such as crop rotation, soil test crop response, cover cropping, conservation tillage, and organic amendments.
