New technologies introduced to enhance quality of life have been developed due to human society’s ongoing progress. However, the need for large-scale industrial production has led to pollution and the growth of low-cost goods, many of which have had disastrous impacts on the environment and human health. Remedial actions are necessary in areas where heavy metal contamination exists. The incorrect application of chemical fertilizers has increased the detrimental effects of natural degradation processes on soil and plant health over time. The soil pollution has been prolonged by inadequate rehabilitation of abandoned industrial sites. Using organic fertilizers and crop rotation is still the most straightforward way to reduce soil erosion brought on by industrial agriculture.
